I've been slowly stockpiling great patterned vintage pillowcases that I pick up at the thrift store for a buck, because I keep finding tutorials like these online. And they're cheap fabric! And eco friendly! And no one understands those poor, shabby chic cast offs like I do.
Make a cute tote from a pillowcase (I'd use two, and double it to make it reversible and sturdier, and so I didn't have to hem all the edges- I could just sew it together!) via martha.
Or turn an old stray pillowcase into an apron, via craftster. I used this as a jumping off point, and do a totally different version of pillowcase aprons. Mayhap I'll make my own tutorial one of these days.
