I've never had long hair. My mother has rocked a short n' sassy haircut since college, and I first cut mine short enough to spike in 9th grade. Since then, I've battled glacially slow hair growth and a mad love for long wavy model hair-the kind of hair I've never had. I've been seriously toying with the idea of extensions, but they're pricey and I'm worried I'd spend it only to realize too late that long hair gets in the way, is a ton of work, and not for me.
Enter ebay, and some low grade clip ins. This weekend was the grand experiment with them-meant to be unseen, but I saw all my in laws and all of Mr. Cupcake's coworkers- all of whom had to mention to me that all of a sudden there was a nappy dead raccoon on my head. Oh well. Turns out, I do like the look of long wavy hair, even on me. Do I like the weight of it, or doing it, or pulling long ponytails out of the collar of my shirt...? Turns out, not so much. I'm a short hair girl, ya'll. It was nice to just pull it out at the end of the day and go back to having a bare neck.
And thus ended my experiment. *though I will keep them on hand for modeling hair accessories, since they're awesome for bulking out my hair into something bridalley and romantic.
