Juicer

I've wanted a juicer for something in the vicinity of four or five years. I've put it off for ages because they're fussy, I want something that could do an apple or carrots, they're expensive, I move a lot, and I think most people think they'll use their kitchen gadgets more than they actually do....

So i finally just bought one at a thrift store today for $5 bucks. I thought, I'd pay three bucks for a thing of carrot juice, let's just try it.

And.....Going on the list of some of the best money I've ever spent. Today was just a few quick experiments....two apples, a carrot, and some celery...delicious. A carrot, some ginger, an apple...delicious. It's wildly satisfying, throwing a handful of things together and having them come out sweetly distilled on the other side. And the pulp? I'm thinking I'm just going to start spooning it straight into my flower pots and garden. Hello, compost!

(This isn't my juicer, as my camera's batteries are charging: this is the closest the internet gave me. Clunky, square and ancient, with two compartments on the front: one for juice, one for pulp.)
