Little Bo Peep

This is a halloween costume re-do for a friend from this year.

We first purchased what I can only imagine was a square dancing getup (tags still on from The Wagon Wheel) for $5 dollars from the thrift store. It had ruffled sleeves, a flounced and piped hem with little blue bows all in the perfect shade of baby blue with white dots.

I replaced the elastic in the neck and waist, both of which were so old and crumbly and not stretchy, not to mention wayy oversized, and took them both in about a foot. After that, I pulled the existing gathers in the skirt all the way up to the waist, and then piled six yards of white tulle underneath for a little sass. She bought the waist cincher for $7 bucks at Ross. I wish I had a better after photo, cuz it really did turn out cute, and she was really pleased with it. There's already talk of next year wearing a big feathered hairpiece and turning this little outfit into a can-can dancer's outfit. How fun is halloween?
