Ikea, Sigh

Due to some circumstances (i.e.- shoddy rebuilding on my part due to a dead battery in our drill, and a pretty rough move) our bed is on it's second and final collapse, and we're in the market for a replacement.

The deceased was a queen sized Malm from Ikea in the medium brown since it matched our snappy mid century dresser, and we're hoping to keep it in that family, for the least amount possible. Since the first collapse, I've kept my eyes peeled on my constant trips to the thrift/antique stores around here just in case we could snag a beautiful, grown up* piece of furniture for cheap.

So. If anyone out there has any ideas, we'd love to hear 'em. In the meantime, we may buy/borrow one of those plain old metal frames to just get the bed off the ground. We're gonna keep combing the area classifieds, garage sales, craigslist and continue thrifting and antiquing and dumpster diving until we find something.

*not particle board and veneer. I want "married people" furniture, not a cheapie replacement.

  1. Good luck! I know you'll be able to find something cool and nice. Grown up furniture is the best. :)
