Not an Advertisment

I've never taken care of my own lawn before, but our rental apartment has an epically sketchy "lawn" and this is the year I'm taking matters into my own hands. Since it's my choice, I'm going to try my best to use natural/organic products and this is my first foray into to the genre. It's a a pre-emergent/fertilizer combo for your grass made out of corn gluten. Yeah. It's supposed to be pretty good, but shorter lived, than it's chemical cousins and I'm excited to be giving it a try. (it's actually good that it doesn't stick around as long so that I can get some new grass seed down afterwards. I'd like to kill/prevent the existing weeds, re seed, and then do a later application.)

Anyway, I would rather use a product "from the Earth, for the Earth" that is reportedly "safe for people pets and wildlife" than a Killzall or Death in a Bottle product potentially ingested by our pets. *end of soap box* That isn't to say that I haven't used traditional products before, but I always got the heebie jeebies reading those labels.
